about OAIMH

This resource directory was developed to assist both clinicians and consumers of infant/family mental health services throughout the state of Ohio. Clinicians identified themselves as having expertise in the area of infant/family mental health and as having an ability to provide service, supervision/mentoring or training.

Clinicians were derived from two primary sources. Those individuals first listed in the 1998 edition of the directory were re-contacted to update and expand their provider profiles.

The latter group and other key individuals throughout Ohio suggested names for potential new clinician entries, derived in part by a response to the following question, “When significant concerns regarding parent-child (infant/toddler) interaction are identified, whom would you contact for help? Such concerns might include (disorders of) attachment, autism, feeding, the parent-child relationship, post-traumatic stress, or self-regulation.” Those individuals were sent a more detailed questionnaire to assist in the process of determining who would ultimately be included in the directory. Please see the disclaimer section for a description of how these decisions were made.

The directory should be viewed as a work in progress. To assist the Ohio Association for Infant Mental Health in identifying additional providers, resources, or to make corrections, please use the additions and updates form.
